Miami City Ballet: George Balanchine's the Nutcracker December 23, 2008

Noted for its bravura dancing, George Balanchine's 'The Nutcracker' debuted in February 1954. Feeding the dreams of young and old alike, this perennial classic is a paragon of classical ballet and magical fantasy for one and all. This production features principal dancers from the New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theatre, lavish costumes, luscious sets, the 'growing' Christmas tree, a flying sleigh, the splendid Balanchine choreography and Tchaikovsky's immortal musical masterpiece performed live by the Stamford Symphony Orchestra.
