Internationally acclaimed bassist Michael Dimin?s forays into the world of solo bass and his funky but ethereal and eclectic compositions have been termed ?extraordinary?, ?singular? and ?unique.? His playing is mentioned in the same voice as Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius and Victor Wooten while his compositions are reminiscent of the work of Pat Metheny. The Big Droppins Ensemble features Mark Dziuba on guitar, Brian Melick on percussion, Eric Walentowicz on soprano saxophone and Tim Olsen on piano. This is sure to be an evening filled with new and wonderful music, inspirational
improvisation and energy to keep you warm for weeks. $5 general admission, free with RPI student ID.
