Montauk Minyan is trying something new In its efforts to maintain a commitment to halacha while broadening the role of women in the service, Montauk Minyan will be trying a new format for the service.

This "Torah'Egal" model, first started by Shira Chadasha in Jeruslem, allows the participation and leadership of women in certain parts of the prayer service: kabbalat Shabbat, Pesukei de-Zimra, the removal and replacing of the Torah in the Ark and Torah reading.
