Did you know: using a standard gas mower for one hour emits the same amount of common air pollutants as driving a new car almost 600 km!

Mow Down Pollution (April 19 - 29) encourages Canadians to reduce green house gas emissions and air pollution by retiring their old gas lawn mowers and trimmers. Gas powered lawnmowers release about 80,000 tonnes of emissions in Canada every year and use about 151 million litres of gasoline.
The event will take place between April 19th - 29th at 160 The Home Depot locations across Canada. People who bring in their old mowers to be retired and properly recycled can receive up to $100 to purchase a new environmentally friendly alternative - push-reel or low emission lawnmowers or trimmers.
