Muthoot Group presents Paul George Memorial Cricket Tournament, an 11 day cricket tournament that has been designed as a platform for the government school students who have been unable to get an opportunity to showcase their cricket talent.
The participating schools are Shafiq Memorial School (Bara Hindu Rao, New Delhi), S.D Sanatan Dharam School (Geeta Colony, New Delhi), DAV School (Pusa Road, New Delhi), Ramjas School (Chitra Gupta Road, New Delhi), Navyug School (Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi), Govt. Boys Sr. Sec School (Tughlakabad, New Delhi), Govt. School- Sector 5 (Ambedkar Nagar, New Delhi) and Navyug School (Mandir Marg, New Delhi). The teams are divided equally into Group A and Group B where each team will play 3 matches within its group.
The two winners from each group will then play the semi-finals and the final two teams will play the finale on October 27, 2012. Says Avinav Chaubey, AGM-Marketing, Muthoot Group: "The Paul George Memorial Cricket Tournament is in its first edition and at present, we have planned to provide the best player of each team with an educational scholarship. Two other best players from each team will be selected as the ball boy for the Delhi Daredevils matches in the IPL season VI." The winning team will also be awarded with a trophy and an original Delhi Daredevils key players autographed cricket bat. The runners up team will also be awarded with a trophy. Other awards include Man of the match in each team, Best Batsman, Best Bowler & Best All Rounder.
