Ashtanga yoga is both the eight-limbed path to inner peace outlined in the Yoga Sutras as well as the six series of postures taught in the tradition of Shri K. Pattabhi Jois. This method of Ashtanga yoga combines breathing, posture, bandha, and gaze into a purifying practice for the body, mind, and spirit.

The Ashtanga Brooklyn program is centered around the Mysore-style practice. Students are taught one posture at a time, practicing the same sequence of asanas consistently, adding the next in the sequence when the teacher feels the student is ready. Students of all levels are welcome.
