The Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs (CAA) will present Nature in 3D! at the Recreation Center at Southridge Wildcat Mountain Auditorium on November 13 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
This presentation of 3D slides will present Yellowstone and Colorado alpine flowers in a way that is simply spectacular. In September of 2009, Bryan White journeyed to Yellowstone to photograph the elusive “Moonbow.” This phenomenon can be observed during a cloudless full moon with a source of water vapor in the air. Bryan’s images capture this remarkable and rarely observed occurrence in 3D. 3D images were also taken at Old Faithfull, hydrothermal pools, waterfalls, and Yellowstone Grand Canyon.
The alpine flower season at South Park, Colorado was photographed in 3D and the Columbine, Indian Paintbrush and other countless alpine flowers leap out of the screen.
After the event, there will be a book signing of his amazing 3-D coffee table book of the Aurora Borealis, Prelude Lake. This book sells at area book stores for $64.95 and will be available for only $30.00 (cash or check). This book will make for a great Christmas gift and can be seen at www.astro-photo.com.
Tickets are available for $7.00 for members and $10 for program guests in advance. Everyone pays $10.00 at the door, if not sold out. Ages 2 and under are free on their parent’s lap. You may register in advance at any HRCA Recreation Center facility or call 303-471-8859, or pay at the door, if not sold out.
