New Yorker/Nihonjin: Steve Reich & Nobukazu Takemura March 19, 2009

This series brings together prominent New Yorkers from the world of Arts & Letters with Japanese artists to discuss engaging and timely issues and ideas of global significance. Steve Reich, a pioneer of the Minimalist style of music, recently called "our greatest living composer" by The New York Times, will reflect on his experiences performing in Japan. Also, in dialogue with Nobukazu Takemura, a Japanese musician whose eclectic style defies easy categorization, Reich will discuss post-minimalism, emerging trends in contemporary classical music and their collaboration on' Reich Remixed.'
