Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival September 24, 2008

(Newport, RI) - An expanded Grand Tasting, a new Sunday Jazz Brunch, and celebrity guests heat up the Newport Mansions Wine and Food Festival, September 25-28, 2008. Hosted by The Preservation Society of Newport County, this remarkable weekend features more than 600 wines from over 150 different wineries from around the globe, plus, food from over 15-area restaurants and catering companies.

In addition to the Grand Tasting, the Wine & Food Festival offers seminars and cooking demonstrations with celebrity guests including Ming Tsai, host and executive producer of public television's Simply Ming, Gloria Maroti Frazee of Wine Spectator, Mary Ann Esposito, host of PBS' Ciao Italia, wine expert Kevin Zraly, Yankee Food Editor Annie Copps, Ihsan Gurdal of Formaggio Kitchens, TV chef, author and teacher Nancy Verde Barr, Italian Wine Merchant's Sergio Esposito, and Roseann Tully of Intermezzo Magazine to name a few. Live and silent auctions, restaurant wine pairing dinners and a gala celebration will add to the weekend festivities.

All proceeds from the Newport Mansions Wine and Food Festival benefit The Preservation Society of Newport County, a non-profit educational organization accredited by the American Association of Museums and dedicated to preserving and interpreting the area’s historic architecture, landscapes and decorative arts.

The Italian Trade Commission is the Presenting Sponsor of the Festival.

Ticket Prices: Saturday Single Day $85 prior to Sept. 15/$95 after Sept. 15
Sunday Single Day $75 prior to Sept. 15/$85 after Sept. 15
