Sorry to say this event has been cancelled as another artist has the venue. Accept my sincere apologies. I will be taking down the Photos Tuesday July 1, 2008. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers calls the stream area an aquatic ecosystem restoration project which seeks innovative approaches to restore aquatic habitat and fish and wildlife resources in Nine Mile Run. Since March 2004, I have been documenting the ecosystem restoration and have found a notable increase in the abundance of wildlife. This signals to me that the area is now moving away from its recent near-death experience and is currently in a state of recovery. This has been largely due to the work of the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association whose mission is to ensure the restoration and protection of the Nine Mile Run Watershed through citizen engagement, demonstration projects, and advocacy. Many of my photographs have been used to support their work, and have been published in periodicals such as: Western Pennsylvania History, Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture Magazine

The $7.7 million dollar restoration project has been called the largest of its kind in the U.S and extends all the way to the Monongahela River. There are now plans for an exciting new entrance near the old Center for Creative Play on Braddock Avenue that has been described as a gateway that cleans rain water, beautifies the park entrance, and provides a welcoming space for visitors to the park and to the many nearby businesses and non-profits.
I want to strongly encourage you to support the recovering ecosystem. Come down to the stream and wetland areas and explore the natural wonders in our own neighborhood, and support the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association. On the web at ninemilerun.org

You understated how good you were when we met yesterday! Ah, modesty in its finest! It's nice to see such talent! And great to say I know you. Really nice work, John!
