Delaware Greenways, along with its partners Nemours Health and Prevention Services (NHPS), Delaware State Parks, and the University of Delaware Health and Exercise Science, has launched “No Child Left Inside.” This exciting and groundbreaking campaign encourages families, especially children, to become more physically active and explore the many great outdoor recreational facilities Delaware has to offer.
The kick-off event, free to the public, is a Family Fun Festival, Saturday, September 27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at one of Delaware’s newest parks, Alapocas Run State Park, by the Can-Do Playground.
The day will be filled with lots of outdoor festivities and games all in an effort to bring families together to be physically active and live a healthy lifestyle. There will be live music, a rock wall, geocaching, guided hikes, moon bounce, traveling zoo, food, and more.
Alapocas Run State Park is located off I-95 at Route 202. It features a multi-use trail that connects to the Northern Delaware Greenway, the Can-Do Playground, and the historic Blue Ball Barn. The Can-Do Playground is a 27,000 square foot playground designed to be accessible to every child, regardless of physical, mental, and sensory abilities.
