Opening Reception for Susan Aurinko Exhibit March 5, 2010

All are welcome to this exciting new opening of photographs by the Chicago photographer, Susan Aurinko. Join us at CPC for a fun evening of photography, wine and good conversations!
Aurinko combines images from two bodies of work, Les Reflets and La Poesie Des Affiches. In Les Reflets the images explore Aurinko's fascination with the artificial beauty and frozen perfection of mannequins and captured faces that inhabit store windows and gaze from billboards and advertisements. LaPoesie Des Affiches is a continuation of graffiti-based work begun in Madrid, New York and Paris years ago. Aurinko examines the layering of signage that appears in large cities, often plastered over "post no bills" signs, in languages that mirror the culture of a country.
