In the spirit of Veterans Day, the Connecticut Militia Heritage Committee and the Connecticut Military Department invite the public to learn about the recent heroic efforts of the Connecticut Army National Guard in Afghanistan and Iraq. Lt. Col. Steven Gilbert of Manchester, commander of the 143rd ASG (Area Support Group), and Col. Thomas Stefanko of Marion, former commander of the 102nd Infantry Battalion, will discuss the highlights and behind-the-scene details of their missions during a free presentation entitled “Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom” at the State Armory on November 15 at noon. This presentation is sponsored by the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism and the Museum of Connecticut History.
