My name is Susan Aikins- Farhang and I go by Aikins and always have for business. I worked as a stylist in Maine for 3 years prior to moving to California in 1986. I went to a fashion institute in Long beach and got an AA in fashion merchandising and marketing. After exploring the fashion world I decided to get back into hairstyling and make-up. I did lots of fashion shows on and off the runway. Behind and in front of the scenes, I worked for several product companies educating and teaching. Sebastian International was a favorite of mine as I was with them for 4.5 years until I had to quit for being pregnant with my first of two kids now 13,11 boy, girl. So about a year after my son was born I had started my own studio with a partner in Newport Beach. I took over 10 years ago and now I have a few employees. Through the years I have done many weddings, fashion shoots, magazine covers, and organized Mommy makeovers with The Komen family for breast cancer survivors (soon to be starting that again.) Four years ago was named best salon in a few industry magazines.
After using harsh chemicals for so many years I decided to re-brand my business and Go Organic. So hence, the name Honey Hair Studio...Nothing more pure than honey. We are a safe haven for all, including pregnant women and the health conscience. I am very excited about my new target market and look forward to sharing my knowledge about the organic ideas and services.
