On October 6, 2009, AGS will host its first 10th Anniversary Celebration lecture, Paper Dolls: Images of Girls and Women in the Media, by Duane Neil, a national authority on media literacy and Chairman of the Chapin School Art Department. This lecture utilizes the paper doll format to explore the representation of women and girls in advertising through graphic means.

In conjunction with Mr. Neil’s lecture, Atlanta Girls’ School will host a Women in Focus juried exhibit throughout the month of October. Women in Focus is an artist-initiated organization of women photographers who support and promote the photographic arts in Atlanta.
