Ironton is open Monday through Friday from 10 to 4, and Saturdays from 12 to 4. A closing reception will also be held in conjunction with Plant Yourself in RiNo, District Wide Tour on Saturday May 17, 2008 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sharon Feder's journey through painting has taken her into the land of the abstract, into landscape, and back to portraiture. Her newest paintings reflect the passage of time, and the outside influences that change and shape us. Water, train tracks, bridges, and even gravestones mark the passage of life from one side to the other. The underlying structure of this series encourage an interchange with the viewer and a narrative emerges.

The tension between Feder’s materials and her regionalist influences charge the work while resisting the typical sentimentality of such paintings. Her work has evolved from decades of technical experience as a set designer, muralist, and studio artist. Feder’s commissions include murals and paintings for dozens of private and public collectors both nationally and internationally.

John Ferguson is a sculptor who works primarily in steel with contrasting material such as concrete, glass, rock, wood and reed. Having pursued art from the fringes for over thirty years, his sculptures juxtapose texture and material differences to produce pieces that take on an implied antiquity.

This body of work continues to focus on the relationships between man, his nature and the continued quest for something more. From non-awareness to awareness, these figurative sculptures evoke personal growth; not only through what they contain but more specifically through what is intentionally missing, how they stand and relate to each other and their environment. An emerging sculptor, Ferguson’s work is on display in Minnesota, Nevada, Iowa, Colorado and New Mexico.
