Businesses and individuals that support the Industrial Arts Center are joining together for this evening of fun and entertainment, "Pennies for Peace of Mind," November 14th from 5-8 p.m. at the Peninsula Inn & Spa in Gulfport. Popular local musician Lynn DiVenuti will play her unique jazz and blues infused music as attendees meet event sponsors who offer a variety of health and wellness related services. The Peninsula will provide free hors d'oeuvres and door prize drawings will be held throughout the evening for prizes including IAC memberships and a Blow Your Own Glass Masterpiece certificate. The Industrial Arts Center is just a short walk across the street from the Peninsula and will be open from 8-10 p.m.
Admission to "Pennies for Peace of Mind" is only $10 and includes a coupon for a free glass of wine with dinner after the event, courtesy of the Peninsula. Tickets will also be on sale for a chance to win a variety of gifts donated by event sponsors and local merchants. Dr. William A. LaTorre, one of the IAC's advanced glass blowing students, is donating a $1,000 coupon toward a $2,000 treatment at his wellness practice. Also sponsoring the event are William Whipple, Acupuncture Physician and Benjamin Ray, Massage Therapist.
The featured sponsor will be the America Living Will Registry, based in Gulfport. Now more than ever, people are recognizing the need for living wills, durable powers of attorney for health care, health care proxies, health care directives and health care surrogates. Unfortunately, these important documents are often not immediately available in an emergency. Unmarried partners are routinely denied access to seriously ill loved ones when they can't produce the proper documentation. America Living Will Registry provides peace of mind for pennies a day by providing access to your documents, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year anywhere in the world. Registrants carry an ID card with a toll-free emergency number and web address. Emergency medical personnel may obtain copies of your directives either on-line or via fax.
The America Living Will Registry will be providing free FL living will and health care surrogate documents for attendees. Individuals who register their documents at the benefit will further support the IAC as a portion of the registration fee will be donated to the Industrial Arts Center.
The Peninsula Inn & Spa, is located at 2937 Beach Boulevard South. The IAC is located at 2902A Beach Boulevard South in the Gulfport Art Village Courtyard.
