F-11‘s Photography for Kids program welcomes youth who want to be more active and creative with photography, regardless of their current skill. Participants will turn their ideas into images and learn how to “see” photographs before taking them. Topics covered include composition, posing, lighting, perspective, cropping and subject matter.
Class participants will explore images from famous photographers, journal about images and have class critiques of work. They will learn to express their ideas by taking pictures of important part of their lives like family, pets and the environment. The class will take field trips in the downtown area to find interesting subjects and to implement concepts or techniques discussed.
Enrollment is limited to 4 to 8 kids per session due to limited space and the desire to make this a truly personalized experience for each child. Students must bring a digital camera with a charged battery and an empty memory card. During the class, they will also learn to use the in-store photo kiosks for editing and printing. Class enrollment includes free prints each week as well as larger complimentary prints for display purposes. In addition, participants will make several commemorative photo gift items from images taken in class. Student images will be included in an after-class gallery show. to correspond with one of the Downtown Bozeman Art Walks.
The class meets each Tuesday & Thursday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. July 10th thru 26th at F-11, in downtown Bozeman.
Enrollment for the Photography for Kids! series is $199.99 and pre-registration is required. To enroll, please call Angela at 406-586-3281 or mail to: angela@f11photo.com.
