What is a "Shop-Hop"? It's an opportunity for current and new customers to visit the shops in Plaza-Midwood and support locally owned businesses. The businesses, in turn, work together to raise community awareness and funds for a specific non-profit.

July 25 non-profit focus: Crisis Assistance Ministry (CAM), which provides families with life's basic essentials. Every day, CAM helps hundreds of people who have been padlocked out of their homes or are facing eviction or loss of their utilities. Because of CAM's efficient operations and low overhead (only 6 cents of every dollar goes towards administration), they've been designated the lead agency for emergency financial assistance in Mecklenburg County.

How we can all help:
1) Pura Vida Worldly Art along with other businesses will silent auction several items, with 100% of the proceeds going to CAM. As you hop around each shop, look for the items being auctioned off.
2) Do your closets need a summer cleaning? Bring whatever clothes you wish to get rid off to our Shop-Hop. You'll see boxes outside labeled with Crisis Assistance Ministry. Just drop your items in the boxes so they can be taken to CAM's Free Store. * If's it's raining, we'll move the boxes inside the shops. Otherwise, look for them on the sidewalks.
