Princess and the Pea October 3, 2010

Based on the classic story by Hans Christian Andersen, Scottish Rite Children's Theatre presents a new adaptation. A lonely prince wants to marry a princess but has great difficulty finding a suitable candidate...there is always something a bit odd with those he meets and he cannot be sure they are real princesses. Then one rainy night, a young lady finds the prince's castle and pleads to take shelter there. She claims to be a princess, but is she? The prince's mother plots to test the girl's sensitivity by secretly placing a pea in the bed she is offered for the night, to be covered by 20 mattresses and feather beds. Only a real princess would be so sensitive as to feel a pea through such a quantity of bedding! Come see how the story ends in the Kingdom of Happily Ever After!
