Central Texas College Rotaract club members are organizing a “Purple Pinkie Day” to raise funds for polio eradication efforts. Club members will be reaching out to schools, colleges, universities, and shopping centers to collect funds. Those who donate $1 will have their pinkies dyed purple. The name “purple pinkie” comes from the purple dye painted on a child’s finger to show they have been immunized to prevent double dosage. A donation of $1 will purchase one polio vaccine for a child in need.
No tickets needed, we will be set up in front of walmart in Killeen asking for $1 donations in return we will dye your pinkie finger purple with the topical solution gentian violet. More than one dollar will get more than one finger painted. All proceeds will go to help eradicate polio in seven countries to include: Nigeria, India, Afgahnistan, and Pakistan.
So come out and participate for every pinkie painted is one step closer to a world free from polio.
