United Way of Broward County will hold its 2nd. Annual “Race for What Matters” 5K Run/Walk on Fort Lauderdale Beach. The flat, out and back course along A1A is USATF Certified. The chip-timed event will serve as the perfect tune-up for those preparing to participate in the A1A Marathon, which will take place along the same course the following weekend. The “Race for what matters,” will feature various activities for participants and food, beverages, music and family entertainment will be available. After last year's success, Renee Grant, owner of Runner's Depot Davie and Miramar will chair the event for the second time.

United Way of Broward County is inviting all of Broward County to “Race for What Matters,” including funded agencies, corporate employees and persons with disabilities. All participants will receive a commemorative medal and a long-sleeve t-shirt. Plus, awards will be presented at the completion of the run. Awards to be presented in various categories.

Proceeds from the event will benefit United Way of Broward County’s Community Care Fund, which invests in four Community Impact Areas - Providing Basic
Needs and Increasing Self-Sufficiency, Nurturing Children and Families, Fostering Youth Development and Promoting Health and Wellness.
