Rhythmaya Dance Classes July 17, 2006

The Rhythmaya School of Dance specializes in contemporary and traditional styles of South Asian/Indian dance. Classes are offered to both children and adults in five locations throughout Washington DC and Northern Virginia: Tenleytown, Gallery Place, Springfield, Ashburn and Falls Church. Class choreography draws heavily from Indian folk, semi-classical, and film (Bollywood) styles, also incorporating elements of Western dance styles like Jazz and Hip-hop. To facilitate a meaningful connection with South Asian culture, the instructor will provide an age-appropriate explanation of each dance's cultural significance as well as an English translation of the lyrics.
