Mellow out with ballad crooner Richard Slade, on holiday from his classical duties (and chops), singing the songs that fabled music critic Henry Pleasants always said he should be singing, and that Ella Fitzgerald so enjoyed when she heard him sing. Joining Richard are Eric Siegel at the keyboard, Lee Green on tenor sax, and Richard Lindsey on bass and guitar. And once Richard's gotten you all teary-eyed, get ready to blast off with the First U Rock and Soul Revue. Rock and Soul, Common Ground's own 10-oiece house band, will take you to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, with blues, fink, Dixieland, rock and zydeco in an eminently danceable program. From classic Mardi Gras tunes to more contemporary blues, the Rock and Soul Revue will provide its own musical gumbo for a sensual feast. (NOTE: The festivities will begin with a dinner of New Orleans, Cajun and other foods, for a modest additional charge.)
Tickets for Dinner and the Performance are $30 for individuals, and $15 for seniors and youth age, 13-18. Tickets for the performance only are $20 for individuals, and $15 for seniors and youth aged 12-18. Kids under 12 are free.
