Mercury Prize nominated folk singer, song collector, promoter (of BBC award winning Nest Collective), radio host, TV personality and teacher, Lee released his debut album in June 2012. Ground Of Its Own comprises songs learned first-hand from the gypsy traveller community. It’s an innovative new musical manifesto and he is fast becoming accepted as a new pioneer, defining the sound, sight and texture of folksong today. Live, with his band, Lee performs unconventional and contemporary interpretations challenging all preconceptions of what ‘traditional folk’ should sound like and winning converts from all quarters including at last year’s Hope Street Feast.
