With Famed SwingSet Band,
Friday, Nov. 2nd, 6:30 pm - 8pm

San Clemente Villas by the Sea, a luxury senior living and retirement housing community at 660 Camino De Los Mares, San Clemente, invites area residents to a free, gala celebration of its 10th anniversary (2002) on Friday, Nov. 2, 6:30 - 8pm.

Festivities take place in the spacious Villas lobby. Entertainment for dancing is provided by SwingSet, a popular South Orange County swing music group.

Light refreshments will be served.

Aileen Brazeau, Villas co-owner, says, “SwingSet really does swing. The group delivers a diverse musical variety show with soloists and vocalists who give audiences exactly what they like to hear. Renditions include many Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton, Nat King Cole tunes as well as more contemporary swing arrangements.”

A few members of the Laguna Community Concert Band (LCCB) formed SwingSet 12 years ago. It is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing a meaningful musical experience for its members as well as giving musical performances in Laguna Beach and surrounding communities.

Virtually all of the musicians have “real jobs” during the day, i.e. physicians, professionals, businesspeople, electricians, etc.

SwingSet has played at the Balboa Bay Club, the Dana Point Senior Center, as well as performing with LCCB at the Laguna Playhouse, Festival of Arts, Sawdust Festival, and Laguna Beach High School.

At all LCCB events, the musicians volunteer their time and talents. Nominal fees are collected to offset the expenses of traveling and moving equipment, and to help offset other LCCB costs. The Villas is co-owned by Paul and Aileen Brazeau. Paul, a US Navy Veteran, and the former owner of an electrical contracting firm with more than 100 employees, started in the building business many years ago, and has been in senior care projects since 1990.

Paul found the land, secured financing, drew up the plans and built the Villas building. He worked closely with the City, building inspectors and sub-contractors. In his career, he’s built 35 buildings and San Clemente Villas by the Sea, which he calls his “labor of love.”
