A native to the Bay Area, Sammy Obeid prefers doing standup comedy nowhere else but here, so long as he only has a bike. In 2006 he graduated from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, while simultaneously earning a degree in Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Probability Theory—thus explaining very well why he now lives with his parents. In 2007 he ranked first place in a national collegiate speaking competition and placed as a finalist in the San Jose Improv Comedy Competition, which prompted him to ask himself, “Why not tell jokes at pizza parlors for a nominal wage of $11.50 U.S. or less?” He continues to do comedy despite the fact that nobody takes him seriously because he can’t grow facial hair. Maybe that’s a good thing. Also features other special guests.
