This fall, receive a $5 car wash from the Women's Bean Project that will help save more than two million lives in Darfur.

Who:

• Save Darfur is an international organization dedicated to helping starving children and families in Darfur. All proceeds from the carwash will go to support Save Darfur.

• Since 1989, the Women's Bean Project, a Denver-based non-profit, has helped women break the cycle of poverty and unemployment and get back on their feet. The Bean teaches workplace competencies for entry-level jobs through employment and by teaching job readiness and life skills in their gourmet food production business.

When: Sept. 28, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., weather barring

Where: Women's Bean Project, located at 3201 Curtis Street, Denver, CO, 80205

Why: In the past 15 years in Darfur, at least 400,000 have died, more than a million have been driven from their homes, villages have been destroyed and food and water supplies have been wiped out. Approximately 3.5 million men, women and children in the western Darfur region of Sudan are trying to survive the Sudanese government-sponsored campaign of violence and forced starvation. As a result, an international effort is being put forth to educate the world about the situation in order to stop a mass genocide from taking place in Darfur.
