A screening of Out In The Silence, "a stunning documentary” according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, and an Official Selection of the 2010 Human Rights Watch International Film Festival, is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27 at 4 p.m. in Jonas Hall 304 on the Black Hills State University campus as part of the Voices of the Heartland Independent Film Series.

The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with filmmakers Joe Wilson and Dean Hamer aimed at engaging the audience in a conversation about fairness, equality, and inclusion for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) people in small towns and rural communities in South Dakota and across the country. Joining the filmmakers for the discussion will be special guest Robert Doody, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of South Dakota.
