Street Movies! is back for a 12th summer of independent film and video.

Twelve years ago, inspired by outdoor screenings at African film festivals and the 1970s Philadelphia Street theater, Scribe created Street Movies! Now a summer tradition across the city, neighbors gather, lawn chairs and blankets in hand, to enjoy drive-in without cars.

This year’s exciting line-up of animated, documentary and experimental films focuses on youth produced videos and works that explore immigration, environmental justice, prisons and policing, effects of violence on our communities, green modes of transportation and militarism.

Screenings start at 8:30 PM and include discussions about the films, with filmmakers often in attendance. Street Movies! is a FREE, family friendly event.
