If you are interested in learning more about meditation and how it can change your life, please attend our gathering.

Members and friends of the group will be available to answer your questions and share how their meditation practice benefits them.

Schedule:

Gather, meet and join members in tea and light refreshments – 11:00-11:15 a.m.

Muffie Noble, Senior Practitioner and Meditation Instructor, has been studying the Dharma and active in the Shambhala Community for over 20 years. Muffie will introduce the Shambhala Vision and give a short history of how it came to the United States. Muffie will speak at 11:15 a.m.

Video Presentation of the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, Spiritual Leader of the Shambhala tradition and Shambhala Buddhism. Video presentation will be taken from the Sakyong’s DVD, Mind as an Ally. Video presentation will begin at noon.

Questions and Answers, Open Discussion – until 1:00 p.m.

The Shambhala tradition believes in the inherent wisdom, compassion, and courage of all beings. It holds that these noble qualities are ultimately more stable than aggression and greed.

It shows how to use worldly life as a means to ripen this spiritual potential. It practices turning the mind toward others as a discipline that creates lungta, windhorse, the ability to attain success that occurs from acting virtuously (The Sakyong, Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche,
