Guo Xiaolu is the author of two semi-autobiographical novels, Village of Stone, contrasting the life of a girl from a small southern Chinese fishing village with life in modern Beijing, and A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers, a love story in the form of a dictionary.
