10AM-6PM daily // Monday, July 12 – Friday, July 16, 2010 // Course fee: $485

Up to 14 program participants will collaborate with Jacob Ciocci (of Paper Rad fame) to create intergenerational video collages that will remix original footage shot in collaboration with a community of NYC older adults with found material sourced from popular media forms. Students will learn how to use basic green screen techniques, and to use AfterEffects and Flash animation in your video work, as well as how to archive, edit and remix found footage. Final videos will be screened at Eyebeam as part of our Summer School public program series. Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops with Adobe AfterEffects, Flash and Final Cut installed.

STUDIO-BASED SUMMER MASTERCLASSES

Ever wonder what it is like to be a resident at Eyebeam?

Join us this July for a series of week-long, studio-based intensives. Work alongside our Fellows and their collaborators, experimenting and playing with creative uses of the latest tools in art, media, and technology. Walk away with at the very least a working prototype of a project, and of course learn some new skills along the way.

Over the course of the week, you will spend time working and hanging out with the artists, designers, academics, and technologists from around the world that make up our community, and have studio access to studio tools and equipment relevant to your work here. Eyebeam’s studio is located in the heart of NYC’s Chelsea art district, and provides a fertile context for thinking, making and sharing.
