Siskins, Grosbeaks and Ravens January 22, 2011

Join us in the winter finch capital of the east: Royalston, MA. A combination of fruit trees and birdfeeders in this scenic town attracts a large variety of finches and other exciting birds every year. We expect to find Pine and Evening Grosbeak, Bohemian Waxwing, Pine Siskin, and Common Redpoll. The calls and views of ravens soaring overhead could distract us from some of the other interesting birds like Wild Turkeys, woodpeckers and kinglets. If time permits, we will scan Wachusett Reservoir for the Tufted Duck and White-winged Gulls. - - Open to anyone age 16 or older. Registration is required. Call 781-259-2200 for details.
