Getting it right on the social web isn’t easy. Gone are the days of “we’ll just throw up a Facebook page, tap out a few tweets and it’s done”. While brands and agencies have more platform and service options these days – Pinterest and Instagram are two of the newest – they also have to face the realities of a crowded social marketplace and increasingly hostile natives. So how does a brand go social when the social web just wants the brands to go home?
This session is part workshop and part retrospective. We’ll look at the past year’s best – and most cringe-worthy – branded forays into the social web and identify what works and why it succeeds. We’ll also look at a couple of live projects and have a go at making them more socially savvy. Expect some best practice, a few bad ads, and plenty of good ideas to take forward on your next campaign.
