Sofa Art Returns in January!

January 7th - January 30th
Opening Reception: Friday, January 9th, 6 - 8pm

Sofa Art will return in its fourteenth installment in January with the theme “Sofa Art Goes to Vegas, Baaby!” As always, the Sofa Art show is open to all, artists and non-artists alike, and we encourage those interested in participating to contact Arts Visalia if you have any questions on how to join in on the fun.

To add to the fun, this year’s show will feature a Sofa Art Fashion Show featuring Sofa Art Hats created by local artists and modeled during the opening night by students of the Estes Institute of Cosmetology. Sofa Art Hat entries are still being accepted so please call us if you intend to submit a hat for the show.

Did we mention prizes? That’s right, this year will feature a prize awarded to the first, second and third place winners of the People’s Choice Award, selected by the public and announced near the end of the opening reception on Friday, January 9th. People’s Choice voting begins on Wednesday, January 7th and closes at 7pm January 9th.

Finally, we are excited to have the Trolley available on Saturday, January 10th to take one and all on a tour to many of the venues showcasing Sofa Art. The Enchanted Playhouse, the Marriott Hotel, the Creative Center, the Fox Theatre and the Transit Center will all display Sofa Art creations with family activities at each venue. So, get off your couch and come join in on the whacky Sofa Art fun!
