Renowned singer/songwriter Marshall Crenshaw has been added to the lineup for the Songwriters Festival, September 30th at Stageworks in Hudson. Crenshaw, a local resident, is best known for his rootsy pop songs, including his big hit "Someday, Someway".

Songwriters, aspiring songwriters, and even wanna-be songwriters are the target audience for the day-long event, which will feature seminars, critiques and a concert. The Festival is produced by the Columbia Arts Team, a not-for-profit based in Copake.

Also appearing at the Festival will be Al Kooper, legendary keyboardist, producer and songwriter. Kooper played the Hammond organ on Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone", as well as countless other classic songs of the 60s and 70s, and was the driving force behind 60s powerhouse groups The Blues Project and Blood, Sweat and Tears.

After lunch (which is included in the price of admission), the pros will listen and critique your songs, with feedback intended to enhance your craft and make your songs memorable.

In the evening, a concert featuring the hitmakers performing their hits will top off the day.

all-day ticket $75 (includes lunch)
concert only $25
