SOU Brass Consort March 7, 2013

The Consort, a 12-piece ensemble under the direction of Dr. Cynthia Hutton, is joined by SOU senior music major and mezzo-soprano Michaela Nuss. The concert features music from the Russian Litany and the powerful A Mighty Fortress arranged by David Baldwin for large brass ensemble. Ms. Nuss will join the Consort singing Urlicht from Gustav Mahler Symphony No. 2, arranged for the concert by SOU’s Dr. Mark Jacobs. Also included are Three Madrigals by Thomas Morley, arranged for brass by John O’Reilly and Samuel Barber’s Mutations From Bach.
