Special VOCAL/CHANT-WRITING WORKSHOP 7/25 July 20, 2009

Greetings Friends ~

I thought I'd let you know about a special workshop
that members of the church that I play for are organizing,
and that's open to all.

We'll spend a short time on learning how to warm-up gently
and then dig into how create a chant that can be used in any kind
of service or ritual setting. You'll discover how to:

> Remember your chant
> Distinguish a chant from a song
> Clarify what words and imagery are most powerful
> Learn what rhythms will propel your chant
> Create a convincing counter-melody
