Spring Break Activities for Kids in Yachats March 23, 2009

The Yachats Youth & Family Activities Program is offering several opportunities for local and visiting children and youth during Spring Break week, March 23 - March 27.

Interested in learning the fiddle? Children and youth in 3rd grade and up are invited to join Kelly Thibodeaux of the Cajun Band, Etoufee for a week of fiddle lessons. No experience is required and fiddles will be provided for all. Lessons will be held at Oceanspray Family Center in Newport, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. The cost is only $25 per person. South County youth may register by calling the Yachats Youth & Family Activities Program at 547-4599. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Recreation PLUS (Passages through Learning, Understanding and Success)will be open at the Yachats Commons during Spring Break, March 23 - March 27 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Local and visiting children and youth ages 6-18 are invited to join in a variety of activities including outdoor challenges, lego creations, cooking, sewing, creating a Quest, and free play. The suggested donation is $25 per family for the week, or $5 per day. For more information, call 547-4599.
