Startup Saturday - Under the umbrella of the Headstart Foundation - is a monthly networking hub for entrepreneurs across five cities. Startup Saturday kickstarted in Bangalore in March 2008 and subsequently the concept spread to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
Each startup Saturday is run by a motivated team of volunteers who are passionate about making a positive difference in the startup ecosystem - thus, lending a helping hand in the country's economic development.
The rationale behind a Startup Saturday is to provide a monthly platform where local entrepreneurs, professionals and students can get together around engaging talks from veterans in the startup industry. Each event has a loose theme and relevant speakers from the chosen theme. The audience plays an active role in shaping the discussions and brain storming is to be found aplenty.

Themes at Mumbai have ranged from PR to retail to even a niche sector of travel and tourism. Mumbai being the epicenter of the Indian Business world, diverse startups have opened shops here.
