Robert Harling’s modern classic takes place in Truvy’s beauty salon, and chronicles the friendship of a group of southern women through the hilarious turns, triumphs, and trials of life. A homage to the strength of Southern womanhood, Steel Magnolias debuted in 1987 and quickly moved to Broadway for an extended hit run. In 1987, Steel Magnolias was made into a highly successful film, and has been a mainstay of American theatres ever since. A touching comedy-drama, Steel Magnolias will be directed by Texas Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Craig Miller, and provides a wonderful showcase for the outstanding actresses of The Texas Repertory Theatre Co.

The Texas Repertory Theatre Co. is located at 14243 Stuebner Airline Rd. in the new Northwoods Plaza. Performances are Thursday at 7:30pm, Friday and Saturday at 8:00pm, and 3pm on Sunday afternoons.
