Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation is proud to honor Vince Carter at this year’s Annual Dinner and Auction scheduled for Wednesday, July 1st at the fabulous DAYTONA 500 Club at Daytona International Speedway. Vince’s ongoing commitment to giving back to his community is why he is being celebrated as one of Daytona Beach’s finest and most respected citizens.
This year we have a new and exciting opportunity! A limited number of special fan tickets are being sold. Each ticket holder will receive a gift bag with autographed memorabilia and other exciting items that will make you then envy of any sports fan!
Vince Carter, a Daytona Beach native, was an all-star athlete at Mainland High School and the University of North Carolina. His numerous awards and recognitions include being a 1998 top five draft pick, 1999 Rookie of the Year, 2000 Slam Dunk Winner, Sportsman-of-the-Year, 8-time NBA All Star, gold medal winner for the U.S. Men’s Basketball team, and was the 26th professional player to reach the 10,000 point mark.
Vince’s personal accomplishments are just as impressive off the court as they are on. He created the non-profit Embassy of Hope Foundation, which assists children and their families in various regions of the country. In 2000, he received the Child Advocate of the Year award from the Children’s Home Society and was recently recognized by Florida Governor Charlie Crist with a Points of Light award for his charitable contributions to his community.
Esteemed guests at the gala include Michelle Carter-Scott, a passionate community advocate, Phil Ford, Assistant Coach of the NBA Charlotte Bobcats. The Foundation is thrilled to welcome back ESPN and ABC Sports broadcaster Dr. Jerry Punch as this year’s Master of Ceremonies.
