Storytelling Workshop With Auntie Jo Jo November 15, 2008

Let the beat of your heart take you through a literary journey as an adaptation of the book, 'To Be a Drum' by Evelyn Coleman come to life. This workshop will remind listeners how they were left an inheritance from African ancestors by using their songs, dances, quilts, inventions, and courage to become ancestral drums. Recognizing our roles as individual drums through the oral tradition of storytelling, communities will be encouraged to call out to a new generation the value of their past.
