The 2011 Philip Rivers 5K Walk & Fun Run June 11, 2011

The Second Annual Philip Rivers 5k Walk & Fun Run, presented by EDCO, will bring together celebrities and the San Diego community to walk/ run along the water in NTC Park in beautiful Point Loma to raise money for the Rivers of Hope Foundation.

The Philip Rivers 5K Walk & Fun Run represents a great opportunity for serious and casual runners, as well as family members and friends, to kick off the summer. Awards will be given to the top three runners in each age division. Post-race activities for all ages will include family themed live music, an autograph booth featuring local celebrities, a complimentary food court and a kid’s fun zone with games, bounce houses, and much more.

Proceeds will benefit the Rivers of Hope Foundation, a non-profit charity started by Philip and Tiffany Rivers in April 2010. The Rivers of Hope Foundation was founded in 2010 with a mission to help children in need of a forever family find permanent loving homes and their own sense of self-worth by developing and coordinating resources and programs to create community awareness, recruit adoptive families, provide financial aid for adoption and assistance for foster children and orphans. Since its inception, the Rivers of Hope Foundation has committed nearly a half million dollars to charities and organizations including Promises 2 Kids, Angels Foster Network, San Pasqual Academy, Grace Pregnancy Center, Voice For Children and San Diego County Adoptions' Heart Gallery. They have also formed several programs that help enhance foster children's life experiences including the Rivers of Hope Birthday Club and the Rivers of Hope Something Special Fund.
