Purcell's 'King Arthur' is a robust, large-scale work in five acts for soloists, chorus and orchestra. The Bach Sinfonia is a Maryland-based non-profit arts organization that is dedicated to excellence in performance and public education regarding eighteenth-century music. Performances are on period instruments. Each historically-informed performance is programmed on a theme chosen to inform the listener about the genres, sociology, and performance practices of the eighteenth century.
