The Concert Ballet of Virginia persents “Homage to Sergei Diaghilev” October 2, 2009

On Friday evening October 2 at 8:00pm in The Woman’s Club Auditorium, 211 East Franklin Street in Richmond, VA, The Concert Ballet of Virginia will open its 34th performance season with an “Homage to Sergei Diaghilev” and the 100th anniversary of his Ballet Russes premiere in Paris. Along with ballet companies around the world celebrating the Ballet Russes, The Concert ballet has restaged and recreated ballets from Diaghilev’s repertory. With colorful sets and costumes – a trademark of Diaghilev – the four ballets chosen to open the season in Les Sylphides, Carnaval, Les Papillion and Prince Igor will transport the audience to those first Ballet Russes performances in Paris. Tickets are $18 for Adults, $15 for seniors students and children. Additionally, dessert and refreshments are available for the Friday opening night.
