The Cox Celebrity Championship hosted by Drew Brees May 20, 2011

The Cox Celebrity Championship hosted by Drew Brees is the premier community event in San Diego and will feature over 50 of the best celebrity golfers. The 13th annual event will also crown the best celebrity golfer in the United States.

The tournament has raised over one million dollars for local charities since it began in 1999. This year a percentage of ticket sales and auction proceeds from the Cox Celebrity Championship hosted by Drew Brees will be donated to the Brees Dream Foundation and dispersed among San Diego non-profit organizations including Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego, the San Diego Armed Services YMCA and Friends of Scott to support its charitable efforts in San Diego.

The Brees Dream Foundation was founded in 2003 by Brittany and Drew Brees. Since its inception the Brees Dream Foundation has committed and/or contributed more than $6 million to charitable causes in the New Orleans, West Lafayette/Purdue and San Diego communities.

The Cox Celebrity Championship hosted by Drew Brees consists of a two-day Celebrity-Amateur tournament (May 20-21), nightly sponsor parties (May 20-22), and the main event – a 36-hole celebrity competition (May 22) for a $100,000 purse. The general public is welcome to all three days of the tournament. Three-day tournament tickets are $10. Children under 14 and guests with military I.D. are free.
