Internationally acclaimed birder, author and photographer, Richard Crossley wants to make you a better birder by redefining the way you bird and use a field guide. His brand-new field guide, the Crossley ID Guide, features his approach to what he calls reality birding. The guide has 640 lifelike in-focus scenes showing birds in their habitats, from near and far, and in all plumages and behaviors. This allows you to study birds as you might actually see them. He aims to make identification easier, more accurate and fun. Richard will share lessons learned from some of his past birding experiences around the world as he talks about his new guide. After the talk, he will sign books and then lead a short birdwalk around Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary. Richard started birding at age 7, and by age 21 had hitchhiked over 100,000 miles around Britain and Europe in his chase for birds. He now lives in Cape May, NJ with his wife and two daughters. He is a coauthor of The Shorebird Guide. - - Open to anyone age 16 or older. Registration is required. Call 781-259-2200 for details.
