These experiences have taught the Company the significance of teaching dancers about various cultures, while sharing their unique talents and style to others.

City Dance will utilize their unique assortment of age groups in the Edge Continued by incorporating performances from the City Dance Ensemble and the DanceCircle. While the City Dance Ensemble’s members are high school students, the DanceCircle is comprised of professional career women between the ages of 30-60. Together, these dancers will deliver an unforgettable performance. The audience will watch the dancers move gracefully across the stage with confidence and poise, while other pieces demonstrate lively movements with beating rhythms. Overall, the Edge Continued will push the boundaries of contemporary dance and create a unique artistic atmosphere.

Artistic Director Sherese Campbell is motivated to keeping City Dance a non-profit dance studio that “seeks to reflect the ethnic diversity of the Houston Metropolitan area.” Members from the community look forward to watching the diverse ethic, social, and cultural backgrounds come together and perform. The organization encourages students to further develop their personal character and talents through community service projects. The Company has performed for various hospitals, churches, retirement communities and schools. Through these unique opportunities, the dancers have discovered the importance of sharing their talents and utilizing their artistry in positive ways.
